(NewsDakota.com) The Northern Cass Jaguars defeated the Oakes High School baseball team for the second time this season with a 6-3 eight inning victory on Friday at Cummings Field.

The hometown Tornadoes (4-3 Class B Region I) struggled in the field and at the plate, as they committed four errors and only managed four hits. Two of those hits came from first baseman Kollen Knutson. Michael Kelly, who took the loss on the mound, struck out 10 and registered an RBI.

Northern Cass (4-3) had a double, single and a run scored courtesy of center fielder Dawson Hayden. Brennen Neva earned the win with eight strikeouts.

Oakes plays next on Monday at Townsend Field in LaMoure. The Tornadoes and LaMoure-Litchville/Marion Loboes will meet first at 5 p.m, to be followed by Oakes and Enderlin/Maple Valley. Coverage starts at 4:45 on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com
