N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Regional Airport is coming off its record month of boarding’s in March and they have set their sights on several summer projects this year.

Jamestown Regional Airport Manager Samuel Seafeldt reports that they have three major projects they want to complete over the summer as they continue to provide service for the region. One of those projects is the second wetlands reduction on the Northeast side of the property.

Seafeldt stated that the reductions were needed to maintain a safety for aircraft’s at the airport, but also to maintain the safety of wildlife on the property.

The project will be funding by federal and state grants with the airport being responsible for roughly 5% of the project cost. Seafeldt mentioned that after that, they would invest in a wildlife hazard assessment for the airport.

The final of the projects the airport would like to finish is a taxiway that has been in serious need of updating.

Seafeldt pointed out that they’re awaiting a state grant for the taxiway project. He mentioned that all of the projects at the airport will not affect their day to day service.
