N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Fire Department has released their run report fro the week of April 15th through the 21st.
The department had more calls than previous weeks, as crews responded to 10 calls throughout the week. The report shows numerous fire alarm activation’s and one report of a washing machine belt being burnt up at Westminster Hall on the University of Jamestown campus.

April 15th, 9:08PM, fire department responded to 725 Westminster Hall-Nierling Hall, to a report of smoke. Fire was out upon arrival of fire units and firefighters extracted smoke from the building. Cause-burnt belt on a washing machine. Fire alarm was reset. No injuries reported. Time out 40 minutes.
April 16th, 4:26AM, fire department responded to 912 Gardenette Drive, Multi Family Dwelling, to a report of smoke. Firefighters were cancelled enroute. Cause-smoking materials in a plastic container. No injuries reported. Time out 35 minutes.
April 16th, 8:48AM, ready squad responded to 904 5th Ave NE, Sanford Health, to a report of a fire alarm. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-unknown. Fire alarm was reset Time out 1 hour.
April 18th, 9:44AM, responded to 1409 Gardenette Drive, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate a complaint about straw bale/s against a building. Firefighters spoke with manager about and stated that straw bales are not allowed to be beside structures per city fire code. Time out 25 minutes.
April 18th, 2:14PM, ready squad responded to 2403 Circle Drive, NDSH-GM Building, to a report of a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-dust from construction. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 15 minutes.
April 19th, 7:16AM, ready squad responded to 701 3rd St NW, Ann Carlson Center, to a report of fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-burnt food. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 35 minutes.
April 19th, 11:17AM, ready squad responded to 1st St and 3rd Ave, at the request of law enforcement to assist in the removal of fencing around a vehicle. Firefighters cut the fence so the vehicle could be removed. Time out 30 minutes.
April 19th, 8:57PM, ready squad responded to 624 9th Ave NW, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 38 ppm was detected. Occupants were advised to have their furnace repaired by a qualified person or firm. Cause-possible faulty furnace. Time out 1 hour 10 minutes.
April 20th, 8:24AM, ready squad responded to 501 19th St NE, Ava Maria Village, to a report of fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked form smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-battery in fire alarm panel. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 35 minutes.
April 21st, 8:48PM, ready squad responded to 5855 3rd St SE, Cavendish Farms, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-steam from fryer. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.
April 21st, 9:08PM, ready squad responded to 610 7th Ave NE, U of J, Seibold Hall, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-cooking. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 30 minutes.
