N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has released their run report for the days between April 8th and the 14th.
According to Fire Chief Jim Reuther, the department responded to seven calls through the week. Some of those calls included fire alarm activation’s, assisting the Jamestown Rural Fire Department with the large grass fire west of Jamestown, and the shop fire on Wednesday.
The department has responded to 74 calls so far in 2016. In 2015, the department had a total of 296 calls. You can find the full run report for the week below including dates, times and descriptions of each call.
April 8th, 10:14AM, ready squad responded to 1423 7th Ave NE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate smoke alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-burnt belt on washing machine. Time out 15 minutes.
April 9th, 10:49PM, ready squad responded to 615 10th St NE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-faulty detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 30 minutes.
April 11th, 3:50PM, fire department to 723 1st Ave South, Parking Lot, to a report of a vehicle fire. Fire was out upon arrival of fire units. Cause-electrical malfunction. No injuries reported. Time out 20 minutes.
April 11th, 5:37PM, ready squad responded to 500 17th St SE, National Buffalo Museum, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-faulty system. Occupants were advised to have the system repair as soon as possible. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 55 minutes.
April 12th, 9:31AM, ready squad responded to 203 2nd Ave SE, Jamestown Middle School, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-faulty detector head. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 10 minutes.
April 12th, 4:48PM, fire department was requested by Jamestown Rural Fire to assist in the extinguishing of a large grass fire west of Jamestown by the bypass. No injuries reported. Time out 2 hours 45 minutes.
April 13th, 5:04AM, fire department responded to 1308 4th St NW, to a report of a fire on the outside of the structure. Firefighters extinguished a small fire and investigated. Cause-hot ashes from wood burner. No injuries reported. Time out 1 hour.
April 14th, 7:22PM, fire department responded to 1206 Riverside Drive, to report of a smoke alarm sounding. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-steam. No injuries reported. Time out 10 minutes.
