Pfeifer, age 80, of Valley City, ND, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Catherine Church in Valley City with Msgr. Dennis Skonseng celebrant. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at the church with a Rosary and Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM. Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
Lillian Ernst was born to Albert and Maria (Haase) Ernst in Kulm, ND, March 25, 1936. She graduated from Kulm High School in 1959. She attended Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND, graduating July 1962. Lillian was united in holy matrimony to Cecil J. Pfeifer, Oakes, ND, on August 26, 1962. She worked as a registered nurse for 35 years at Mercy Hospital, retired, and worked for the Sheyenne Care Center until fall 2007. During her years she enjoyed traveling, volunteering and working at the NearlyNu Store, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed humor and joking with her family and the staff at the Sheyenne Care Center.
She is survived by her children Kevin (Julianna) Pfeifer and their children Heather, Russell, Christopher, and Shane, West Yellowstone, MT; David (Kathy Jo) Pfeifer and their children Jared, Wade, and Hailey, Dillon, CO; Paul (Susan) Pfeifer and their children Nicholas, Jacob, and Thomas, Valley City, ND; Karla Weshnevski and daughters Ashley and Megan, Valley City, ND; and Rebecca (Mason) Nelson and their children Ian, Clorissa, and Tori, Valley City, ND. She is also survived by three sisters, Mabel Dallman, Pearlis (Lynn) Ballentine, and Gladys (Wayne) Cardwell, and three sisters-in-law, Cathy Fabré, Janet Pfeifer, and Annie Pfeifer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, her parents, and her brother, Leonard.
