CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) Two men have scheduled a rally in Valley City to promote awareness of the medical marijuana petition in North Dakota.
Valley City 4/20 rally coordinator Lucas Sieg said “The rally is to raise awareness for the Compassionate Care Act. He added we believe we need to get the medicine that people need.”
Alexander Huss-Petersen said, “We want it to be a peaceful protest. We don’t want to cause any problems. “
The two men will discuss the focus of the rally before the Barnes County Commission on April 19th during their next regular meeting.
The proposed rally in Valley City is scheduled for April 20th at 4:20pm near the Barnes County Court House.
More than 13,000 signatures are needed so the petition can be put on the ballot in November.
If the petition is accepted and voter approved in November, the initiative would make it legal for North Dakotan’s to possess up to three ounces of marijuana for medical purposes.
