N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – March 1st signaled the start of the National Weather Service Spring as they gear up for potential severe weather in the coming months.
Dickey County Emergency Manager Charlie Russell has announced that the Oakes Fire Department will be hosting this years SKYWARN training on Monday, April 18th at the Oakes Fire Hall.
The National Weather Service trains attendees to spot dangerous conditions before severe weather strikes. Spotters call in and inform their local NWS office of the impending storm and allow them to act in a timely fashion.
The class is free and will be open to anyone who wants to attend.
