N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Ten teams of students across the state competed in the LifeSmarts state finals February 10th, and one of the two Jamestown teams came away with the win.
The LifeSmarts competition tests students in grades 9 through 12 about several subjects including personal finance, health and safety, technology and many others. Jamestown High School Team Number 2 is coached by Jamestown High School social studies teacher Marchel Krieger and consists of team captain Courtnay Kiecker. Members of the team include Colton Carson, Cris Dupre, Leo Fremgen and Julia Shirley.
The team defeated Flasher High School in the finals at the Heritage Center in Bismarck. Jamestown will be representing North Dakota during the National Competition in Denver this weekend.
