N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Groundbreaking of the Two Rivers Activity Center is being estimated for April 29th.

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation recently made an offer of $500,000 to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center to purchase 8.61 acres of land next to the 15.3 acres of property set aside for TRAC. Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department Director Dough Hogan says the Park Board approved the offer.

“It’s just exchanging the land with the remain school district land,” Hogan stated. “The school district donated half of the 15.33 acres and the district will try purchasing that land from Lutheran Charity Services so the TRAC property will be all on one area.”

Hogan pointed out that the contract has not been signed, but the offer has been made. The guaranteed maximum price for phase one of TRAC is expected by April 20th and estimated groundbreaking is April 29th.

“It’s not set in stone right now, but we’re looking at the potential groundbreaking for TRAC to be April 29th.”

The 1% city sales tax for TRAC will take place effect April 1st.
