CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Five Valley City residents have taken out a petition to run for one of two Valley City Commission seats up during the June 14 election.
The commission seats of Madeline Luke and Mary Lee Nielson are up for election.
Nielson says she’ll seek re-election. She says “It’s a privilege to serve the citizens and work to keep Valley City moving forward.”
Luke will not be running for the city commission seat due to family obligations. She says she’ll continue to work on projects that she started as much as the new commission allows. Luke says “I valued the opportunity to serve Valley City as a commissioner and I hope that my voice has been a positive one.”
Here is a list of the people who have taken out petitions to run: Terry Jones, Rick Ross, Mary Lee Nielson, Mike Bishop and former mayoral candidate Jeff Edwards.
Interested candidates who are residents of Valley City have until April 11th to get a petition and fill out the necessary signatures to run in the June 14th election.
