“Pickle” Peterson, age 57, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Valley City, ND, died Sunday, March 20th at his residence in Jamestown, ND.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 29th at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home Chapel in Valley City.  Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Woodbine Cemetery in Valley City in the spring.

Gary Lee Peterson, the son of LeRoy and Faye (Waters) Peterson, was born May 18, 1958 in Valley City, ND.  Gary grew up and attended school in Sanborn, ND.  After his graduation, he attended a trade school in Dickinson, ND where he was certified as a Heavy Equipment Operator.  On February 23, 1976 Gary enlisted in the US Army and was Honorably Discharged on December 7, 1976.  After his discharge, Gary lived in Valley City for some time and was recently living in Jamestown at the time of his death.

Gary “Pickle” Peterson is survived by his son Joshua Peterson, Fargo, ND; siblings, Roy (Kristie) Peterson, Gordon, NB, Peggy (Scott) Sandvick, Valley City, ND and Ricky (Lisa) Peterson, Indiana; two aunts, Becky Wolhart, Valley City, ND, and Lois Miller, Idaho; and two uncles, Bob (Barb) Waters, California and Kenny Johnson, Valley City, ND.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Tammy Richman and Marie “Cookie” Peterson, his grandparents and numerous nieces and nephews.
