N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – During the Jamestown Police & Fire Committee meeting, a complaint against Police Chief Scott Edinger was brought forward.
Committee Chairperson Charlie Kourajian informed the council of the complaint, stating that it was submitted on behalf of Thomas Nagel. Attorney Joseph Larson brought the complaint forward himself.
Mayor Katie Andersen reported that the city has received the complaint and normally when a complaint against an officer happens, the Chief investigates. Andersen suggested that the complaint be handled by Deputy Auditor Jay Sveum and Councilman Steve Brubakken.
Sveum handles the Human Resources for the City and Councilman Brubakken is on the Legal Committee. They have been tasked with bringing back a recommendation following an investigation to the full city council.
The complaint comes after an incident involving Daniel White. According to the complaint by Larson, there was no disciplinary or criminal actions against Deputy Daniel White when he was reportedly intoxicated and trespassing on private property while in training.
