M. Tews, 65, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Monday morning, March 21, 2016 surrounded by her family at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Jacqueline Marie Dunn was born March 5, 1951, in Jamestown, the daughter of Jerry L. and Annette (Carlascio) Dunn. She grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1969. She moved to Rio Vista, CA where she attended Union of the Pacific music conservatory. Jackie studied music and was active in the community while raising two children. She moved to Jamestown, and then moved to Grand Forks, ND where she worked for Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church as a liturgist. Jackie earned degrees in anthropology and archeology from UND. Jackie returned to Jamestown where she was active in many local churches’ music programs, taught music and voice lessons, was an interpreter at Ft. Seward, and worked at Alpha Opportunities. Jackie and Al Tews were married on September 5, 1998 in Jamestown.

Jackie had a passion for history and keeping in touch with her classmates of 1969. She also loved cooking, shopping, flowers and gardening, music, and her family and many friends. Jackie was a member of the Elkettes, Rotary, and St. James Basilica.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Al Tews; daughter, Patricia A. Romias-Smith (Dillon) and her children, Jonah N. Olson and Justice A. Olson; son, Nathaniel J. Romias; brother, Jerry T. Dunn; sister, Nancy (Clyde) Schmidt; sister, Jean Hagel (Dave Donegan), sister, Barb (Duane) Johnson; sister, Elizabeth (Bradley) Kapp; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and father-in-law, Marvin Tews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law, Cora Tews.

Mass of Christian Burial: 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.

Vigil: 6:00 p.m., Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at St. James Basilica.
