S.D. – Joe Demers of Valley City State (N.D.) was selected to the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Baseball Player-of-the-Week, the second edition of the weekly honors were announced Monday. Tanner Dahl of Jamestown (N.D.) was chosen as NSAA Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week.

Joe Demers – Valley City State (N.D.) – 5’11” – Junior – First Baseman – Grafton, N.D. – Demers batted .533 for Valley City State (N.D.) in the Tucson (Ariz.) Invitational, collecting 16 hits in 30 plate appearances. He had five extra-base hits and nine runs batted in (RBIs) for the week. Demers had at least one hit in each game, including a four-hit game against Mount Marty (S.D.) and a pair of three-hit games in walk-off wins over (RV) Wayland Baptist (Texas) and Antelope Valley (Calif.). He hit a 3-run home run later to score the winning run in an 8-7 walk-off win over Wayland Baptist. For the week, Demers recorded an .867 slugging percentage (two doubles, a triple and two home runs) and a .600 on-base percentage.
North Star Athletic Association Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week
Tanner Dahl – Jamestown (N.D.) – 6’2″ – Senior – Pitcher – West Fargo, N.D. – Dahl pitched his second straight shutout in No. 10 Jamestown’s (N.D.) 4-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan. He allowed six hits and did not walk a batter while striking out seven. Dahl currently have 17 scoreless innings over his last three starts, giving up just one run in the last 20 innings. He is 6-0 record this season with a 2.18 earned run average (ERA) in 45 1/3 innings, recording 40 batters.
