N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Career website Zippa has ranked the top 10 smartest cities in North Dakota. Both Jamestown and Valley City made the list.

According to the website, the study focused on cities with over 5,000 people and ranked overall score by looking at high school dropout rate and adults with at least a high school degree for each city in North Dakota.

The study found Jamestown to be the sixth smartest city. The website states that Jamestown is “making a big show of intelligence as only 1.1% of high school kids are dropping out early and 13.6% of the population is missing its high school diploma.”

Valley City rounds out the top 10 on the list.

“With so few high school dropouts and 12.9% of the adult population lacking a high school diploma, Valley City has earned their spot on the list.”

The top three smartest cities found in the study were West Fargo, Grand Forks, and Fargo. You can find the study here.
