N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Members of the Jamestown City Council, City Beautification Committee and area residents learned more about the current HDR Engineering Inc. study on curbside recycling for the community Thursday.

Brent Erickson of HDR is the study manager and presented the current findings in the study. Erickson provided numerous plans of varying degrees, giving the council the ability to make a decision on what they thought would best serve Jamestown. Erickson talked to the council about automated collection.

Erickson pointed out that they had presented several alternatives to automated recycling in their study as well.

The Council agreed to pay the originally tabled $13,000 in bills for the work on the study with Mayor Katie Andersen voting against. HDR was hired to study the feasibility of recycling in Jamestown and are currently $20,000 away from the reports finalization.
