CITY, I.A. (NewsDakota.com) – McKayla Orr’s three-pointer put the Jimmie women’s basketball team up by 13 midway through the third quarter. That’s when it started to unravel as Oregon Tech scored 32 of the next 42 to take control of the game. The Owls won their first-ever game at national tournament with a 71-64 win over Jamestown.

Jamestown got a big first-half boost from Kaeli Kraska. The senior scored all 14 of her points in the opening 20 minutes, including a quick 5-0 of her own to pull the Jimmies from four down to one-up.

That run sparked Jamestown to a seven-point halftime lead, 32-25. They built that lead all the way to 13 in the second half before the tide turned. Oregon Tech scored 13 in a row to tie the game.

Jamestown trailed two on the final possession of the third and Bryn Woodside nailed a triple at the horn to flip the lead. That was the last time the Jimmies lead.

Eight players in total scored in double-figures, four for each team. Jessica Buck ended her Jimmie career with 12 points, 10 rebound and six assists.

Jamestown ends their season at 29-5.
