CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Nine steers and five Market Hogs were auctioned off during the annual North Dakota Winter Show Classic Steer & Market Hog Auction at the Valley City Eagles Club on March 6th.
The base price for the steers was 1.20 a pound. Jade Ulmer’s 1159 pound steer sold for $1.62 a pound to Miller Elevator for a $487 premium.
Danny Galbreath’s 1153 pound steer sold for $1.47 a pound to Embden Grain for a $311 premium.
Danny Galbreath’s 1134 pound steer sold for $1.46 a pound to Plains Grain & Agronomy for a $295 premium.
Lynsey Schmitz’s 1106 pound steer sold for $1.39 a pound to Valley Meats Supply for a $210 premium.
Danny Galbreath’s 1221 pound steer sold for $1.37 a pound to Legacy Seed for a $207 premium.
Gary Ulmer’s 1089 pound steer sold for $1.36 a pound to H.T. Cattle for a $195 premium.
Lacey Schmitz’s 1017 pound steer sold for $1.38 a pound to Dick Nelson Sales & Leasing for a $183 premium.
Bobby Steichen’s 1309 pound steer sold for $1.34 a pound to the Valley City Eagles Club for a $184 premium.
And Steichen’s 984 pound steer sold for $1.36 a pound to the Valley City Eagles Club for a $158 premium.
Now on to the Market Hog Auction results. The base price was .47 cents a pound:
Haley McLeod’s 260 pound hog sold for .94 cents a pound to Dick Nelson Sales and Leasing for a $122 premium.
Lindsey Galbreath’s 243 pound hog sold for .85 cents a pound to Greg Svenningson for a $92 premium.
Dawson Streichen’s 302 pound hog sold for .63 cents a pound to Steichen Simmental for a $49 premium.
Lacey Schmitz’s 305 pound hog sold for .62 cents a pound to Rusty Spur Red Angus for a $46 premium.
And Lynsey Schmitz’s 298 pound hog sold for .62 cents a pound to Dick Nelson Sales & Leasing for a $44 premium.
