CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show pageant and coronation will be held during the 79th annual North Dakota Winter Show.
Spokeswoman Kayla Sorby says the pageant will be held on Friday, March 11th and the coronation will be held at 6:30m on Saturday, March 12th.
Elsie Burwell is the current Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show 2015. Burwell is the 18 year old daughter of Angela Burwell. Though she calls Cayuga, ND home, she’s currently a freshman at North Dakota State University, where she plans to obtain a degree in Agricultural Education, with a minor in Equine Science. FFA was very important to Elise throughout high school, so continuing to be a part of the largest youth organization, by teaching students the importance of agriculture, has her excited for the future.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles” Isaiah 40:31. Soaring on eagles wings, Elise accomplished her life long goal of becoming Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show in March 2015. An injury in February of 2014, really opened her eyes to how important it is to pursue your dreams. “I’ve wanted to represent the Winter Show for as long as I can remember. After I got hurt, I was ready to give up on a lot. But I knew God would only give me something to make me stronger. So no matter how tough it may be, it’s always worth it to go for your dreams. There’s a reason for everything, don’t let one small thing stand in the way of your reason.”
