N.D. (AP) – Those with exclusive use of property on three Bureau of Reclamation lakes in North Dakota will pay significantly more for an annual lease starting next year.
Bureau spokeswoman Patience Hurley tells the Bismarck Tribune that a new appraisal looked at local values in deciding the higher rates.
The increases affect property on Lake Tschida near Elgin, Lake Patterson near Dickinson and the Jamestown reservoir.
Jamestown reservoir permittees will see an increase from $2,200 to $6,700 for a year-round lease and a jump from $1,100 to $3,560 for a seasonal lease.
The annual rates at Lake Tschida will double, from roughly $1,200 to $2,300. At Patterson Lake, rates will go from $2,100 to $6,825.
The rates will remain in effect for five years, when another appraisal will be conducted.
