N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has released their run report for the week of February 26th through March 3rd in the community.

According to Fire Chief Jim Reuther, the department had five calls in the week and ranged from smoke scares to smoke smells and gas odors. The department has seen a total of 42 calls to service so far in 2015. In 2014, the Fire Department responded to a total of 296 calls. Below is a full run down of each call with dates, times, and descriptions.

February 29th, 10:10AM, ready squad responded to 1005 2nd Ave SW, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate smoke scare. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-steam from furnace exhaust. Time out 10 minutes.

March 1st, 11:12AM, ready squad responded to 2605 Circle Drive, NDSH-Lahaug Building, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-systems malfunction. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 30 minutes.

March 2nd, 6:32AM, ready squad responded to 508 8th Ave SE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate smoke smell. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-furnace malfunction. Time out 30 minutes.

March 2nd, 8:52AM, ready squad responded to 123 7th St SW, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate gas odor. Firefighters checked the structure and detected a faint odor of natural gas. Cause-relief valve activated on the meter. Time out 10 minutes.

March 2nd, 7:24PM, ready squad responded to 5855 3rd St SE, Cavendish Farms, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-water flow senor activated. System was reset. Time out 1 hour.
