N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Harvest statistics have been released by the North Dakota Game & Fish Department, showing overall success for hunters in 2015.
Hunters were 96 percent successful for moose and 69 percent for elk. The bighorn sheep hunting season was closed due to significant sheep mortality from bacterial pneumonia in 2014. The department issued 129 moose licenses last year, with 124 moose being harvested.
The department issued 317 elk licenses in 2015, with 287 hunters harvesting 197 total elk. Additional licenses were raffled by the Rockey Mountain Elk foundation.
