N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – During the District 12 Convention in Jamestown Thursday, Republicans selected nominees for State Senate and State House seats in the 2016 primary.
Republican Gubernatorial hopefuls Wayne Stenjhem, Doug Burgum, and Rick Becker opened the convention, asking for support from District 12 voters. Here’s current Representative Rick Becker.
Entrepreneur and philanthropist Doug Burgum tossed his hat in the ring for the republican nomination and District 12’s support.
Current Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem also spoke to the crowd Thursday night.
Other candidates running for State Superintendent, State Auditor and Public Service Commission spoke during the convention. Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen announced she was running for North Dakota State Senate and received the districts nomination to run against Democratic State Senator John Grabinger, who recently announced his bid for re-election.
Bernie Satrom and Jim Gruenich were also picked to run for the two seats on the North Dakota House of Representatives. They will face Democratic Representative Jessica Haak and Democratic Candidate Pam Musland for the District 12 seats on the House of Representatives.
All local individuals will be placed on the June 14th primary ballot and the general election for offices will be held November 8th.
