CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City State University defeated Viterbo University 69-67 in the quarterfinals of the NSAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Thursday night.
The Vikings held off a late rally by the V-Hawks to advance to the semifinals on Saturday against the University of Jamestown.
Jayden Ferguson scored a team-high 18 points, while Justyn Galloway added another 14 points for the Vikings (21-9 overall).
Viterbo (13-17 overall) was paced by Jake Bamke with a game-high 25 points on the night.
VCSU will host Jamestown on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the semifinals, after the Jimmies topped Dickinson State 93-74.
