(NewsDakota.com) – The Jimmies had been 0-2 against Dickinson State in men’s basketball this year, but third time was a charm. Jamestown pulled away in the second half to bury the Blue Hawks with a 93-74 victory.
The Jimmies are the nations top free throw shooting team and they made an incredible 32-37 from the line in this game. Sam Johnson and Brequan Tucker lit it up from behind the arc as the Jimmies made their run.
Dickinson pulled within three after trailing by 12 in the first half, but the Jimmies answered with a quick 9-0 spurt on two bombs from Johnson and one from Tucker.
Johnson finished with 21 after splashing home five triples. Tucker moved into the top spot on the UJ career scoring list with his 38 points, passing Beau Hensel who was the leader with 1715 career points.
Jamestown will play Saturday against VCSU at 3pm in Valley City.
