N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Valley Library System is moving closer to bringing a bookmobile back to Jamestown and Stutsman County residents.

The current bookmobile is over 20 years old. According to Development Director Bill Kennedy, the campaign has raised $45,000 so far with 51 new donors. Kennedy says the goal is $100,000 for the Friends of the Library.

“I am very pleased at the response from Jamestown and Stutsman County residents, and local businesses, to bring a much needed new bookmobile to the community. The current bookmobile is 20 years old and has traveled 120,000 miles making 26 stops each month, 17 of which are in Jamestown.” said Kennedy.

The cost of the bookmobiles will be around $210,000 and is being built by OBS, Inc. out of Ohio. Kennedy says the bookmobile is scheduled for a fall 2016 delivery.
