CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) In a split vote the Valley City Commission approved of amending an agreement with KLJ engineering for their work on the Main Street Shared Use Path project.
The request of up to $22,000 for engineering services was made by KLJ engineer Chad Petersen.
The motion passed on a 3 to 2 vote with Mayor Bob Werkhoven and Commissioner Madeline Luke voting against the motion.
Werkhoven questioned the KLJ request because the city already approved $32,000 to KLJ for the Shared Use Path project earlier.
KLJ told the city that the additional cost occurred after the company was notified that they had to complete the North Dakota DOT Threatened Endangered Proposed Candidate Species and Critical Habitat determination table and reevaluation check list which KLJ says may increase the cost of the Shared Use Path project.
