N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Mayville State University shot 11-16 from beyond the arc in the first half and grabbed a 44-40 lead at the half over Valley City State University.
VCSU would limit MSU to just three made three-pointers for the rest of the game. The Vikings would go on to win 82-74 over the Comets in North Star women’s basketball on Wednesday night.
The Vikings (16-9 overall, 9-3 NSAA) were paced by Georgia Williams with 23 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals, while Lexi Lennon added another 19 points.
Andi Gayner led the Comets (15-11 overall, 6-6 NSAA) with a game-high 27 points on the night.

The Vikings clinched a share of the North Star conference title with their 87-82 win over the Comets on Tuesday night.
Jayden Ferguson scored a season-high 31 points on the night for the Vikings (20-8 overall, 8-4 NSAA). Ferguson went 10-11 from the free throw and finished with 7 rebounds in the game.
VCSU shot 31-43 as a team from the charity stripe.
The Comets (15-11 overall, 5-8 NSAA) were paced by Jamal Branco with 21 points.
