CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City State University outscored #20 Dickinson State University 23-8 in the second quarter in North Star women’s basketball on Tuesday night.
The Vikings (14-9 overall, 7-3 NSAA) were paced by Sara Schwanke with 18 points in their 75-65 win over DSU. Courtney Dixon and Mackenzie Huber each chipped in 15 points for VCSU in the game as well.
Janniqua Thomas had a game-high 16 points for the Blue Hawks (19-6 overall, 7-2 NSAA).
VCSU finished the game with 21 assists and 6 turnovers, while shooting 47.7% from the field.

Men’s Game – VCSU 91 DSU 79
The #20 ranked Vikings erased a double digit deficit in the first half and took a 42-31 lead into the half over Dickinson State University.
VCSU (19-7 overall, 7-3 NSAA) would go on to win 91-79 over DSU in North Star men’s basketball.
Five players scored in double figures for the Vikings, with Justyn Galloway and Ellwood Ellenson each recording double-double’s on the night.
Galloway finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists, while Ellenson scored 11 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had 3 blocked shots.
Julian Vasquez had a team-high 17 points for the Blue Hawks, who dropped to 12-13 overall and 5-5 in conference play.
