N.D. Jamestown lead by just two after the first quarter, but used a big second half to pad their lead. The Jimmies outscored the Saints 28-10 in the second 10-minutes to a take a 48-28 lead into halftime. Jessica Buck scored nine in the first quarter, but Jamestown was getting contributions from everywhere. Six players had seven or more points at half.

The offense slowed for the Jimmies in the second half as they cruised to their 23rd win of the season. They are now 9-0 in conference play and can pretty much guarantee themselves home-court advantage in the NSAA playoffs with a win Saturday at Dickinson State.

There is a bit of a rivalry brewing with Jamestown and Presentation on the men’s side over the last three years and we saw it rear its head a few times with two technical fouls issued in the game.

Jamestown went into halftime leading 43-35 and built that lead without Jake Hagler or Brequan Tucker on the floor who had to sit for long stretches with foul trouble. The Jimmies got a stellar effort from their bench. Jon Purintun, Christian Kvilvang, and Issac Wahlin all stepped up and played big roles in the win. Purintun finished the game with eight points and 10 rebounds.

UJ had to hold off a late push from Presentation who just kept hanging around even though they trailed by 8-12 most of the half. The Saints got within four at 76-72, but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Tucker lead the Jimmies with 19, he is now only 78 points away from becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer.
