CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The final neighborhood public input flood control meeting will be held tonight in Valley City.
KLJ Engineer Eric Gilbertson says the meeting will focus on two neighborhoods along the Sheyenne River in Valley City to see what these citizens want for a permanent flood protection structure. City residents have three options: Do nothing, build clay levees or build flood walls.
The meeting tonight is for city residents in section “E” living along 8th Avenue Southwest Bridge to Interstate 94 and also for city residents in section “F” living south of Interstate 94. The meeting will start at 7pm tonight inside the Regional Technology Center along Winter Show Road in Valley City.
Input from this meeting and previous meetings will be submitted to the city for their recommendation. In March the city will decide which direction to pursue concerning flood protection in Valley City.
