FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liner girls and boys basketball teams traveled to Grand Forks Central on Friday night and came away with a spilt in the Eastern Dakota Conference.
Girls Game – GFC 58 Valley City 29
The Hi-Liners were held scoreless for the first 7 minutes of the game and trailed 27-9 at the half against the Knights.
Valley City (0-14 overall, 0-13 EDC) started the second half on a 5-0 run, but it wouldn’t be enough against Grand Forks Central.
The Knights (5-8 overall, 4-8 EDC) were led by Lauren Dub with 19 points, while Tarryn Justesen paced the Hi-Liners with 8 points.
GFC: La. Dub 19, McWilliams 7, Dahley 6, Li. Dub 6, Ferry 6, Smith 4, Anderson 4, Schumacher 3, Hanson 2.

Boys Game – Valley City 59 GFC 51
Valley City came away with the regular season sweep over Grand Forks Central after their eight point win.
Hunter Burchill scored a game high 24 points for the Hi-Liners (7-7 overall, 5-7 EDC), while Nate Rodriguez chipped in another 11 points.
Adam Grove was a one man wrecking crew for Grand Forks Central (0-13 overall, 0-12 EDC). Grove scored 21 points for the Knights.

Valley City returns to the court on Tuesday night against Fargo South inside the Hi-Liner Activities Center for an EDC basketball doubleheader. Girls game will tip at 5:45 p.m. with the boys to follow at 7:30 p.m.
