N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency is currently accepting applications for development assistance in rural communities.
The state’s Housing Incentive Fund is seeking applications for funding assistance in rural communities looking to build affordable housing. Jolene Kline, NDHFA executive director, stated that development in rural communities pose some unique challenges.
“Having an adequate supply of affordable housing strengthens a community and by limiting a funding round to our state’s smaller communities, we are ensuring that rural communities have access to this very valuable state resource.” Kline stated.
Director of Public Affairs Max Wetz stated that smaller communities should at least look into the funding and see if it matches future plans for affordable housing.
The Housing Finance Agency was given the authority to issue $30 million in state tax credits to capitalize the program. More information is available online at www.ndhousingincentivefund.org or by calling 800-292-8621.
