N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Senators John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp have announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded over .7 million in federal funding to support Head Start and Early head Start programs in Jamestown.
According to Hoeven, $1,745,426 was awarded by HHS’ Administration for Children and Families to promote the social and economic well-being of families, children and communities.
“It’s important for us to invest in programs that help build a strong foundation for our children to succeed,” said Hoeven. “Today’s grants will go towards improving the health and education of our youngest residents and to help them achieve future success.”
Hoeven works as a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee to assist in state and local efforts to improve student achievement.
