(NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay boys hockey team squeaked out a 2-1 West Region win over Dickinson on Tuesday night at Wilson Arena.
Jamestown received stellar goaltending from Matthew Schneider, as the Sophomore stopped 39 of the 40 shots he faced, and offensively the Jays got goals from Gage Thompson, his third, and Austin Rene, his team leading 14th. Rene’s power play goal early in the third snapped a 1-1 tie.
The Midgets goal came from Michael McChesney, as he banged in his state leading 23rd of the season, as Dickinson outshot the Jays 40-25.
With the win, Jamestown, 6-6-1, 6-4-1 in the conference, moves past Bismarck Century for third place in the West Region.
Next up for the Blue Jays is a trip to Williston on Saturday night.
