CITY, N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City School District has a new tool in the classroom for students and teachers after the school received a grant from the North Dakota Educational Technology Council to pay for a portion of 25 iPads.

Junior High Principal Dan Larson says teacher Kristi Shanenko will be the first to use the Macbook Air computers for 8th grade English students and Advance Placement English classes. Larson says Macbook Air computers start quickly.

The estimated cost is around $37,000 for the 25 iPads. The school district will pay for slightly more than half using the schools technology account. The other portion comes from a $16,500 grant from the North Dakota Educational Technology Council.
