N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The adoption process for a shelter animal is a long one and consists of steps that take longer than a day, but more humane shelters in the state are considering same day adoptions in order to make it a little simpler.
Earlier this year, the Souris Valley Animal Shelter in Minot began same-day adoptions. The James River Humane Society has been keeping up with the process. Board President of the Humane Society Matt Opsahl.
Opsahl stated that the only thing that would prevent same-day adoption is staff at the James River Humane Society. The shelter runs solely on volunteer power with the exception being the morning staff.
In other news, the shelter experienced it’s best years as far as donations go.
