(NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay boys hockey team moved into fourth place in the West Region, thanks to a 3-1 win at Mandan Tuesday night.
The Jays were out shot 34-19, but received a superb performance in the net from Sophomore Goalie Matthew Schneider.
Senior Forward Austin Rene accounted for all the Blue Jays offense, as he snapped in his 9th, 10th, and 11th goals of the season, including a short handed breakaway late in the third to put the game out of reach.
With the victory, Jamestown, 4-5-1 over-all and 4-3-1 in the West, leap frogs Mandan for fourth place in the region standings.
Next up for the Jays is a home tilt with first place Minot on Friday night at Wilson Arena. Face off is set for 7:30
