(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown jumped out quickly on Minot  before holding off the Magi down the stretch to win 57-46. It’s already the fourth win for the Jays who won just three games in 2014-15.

The Jays jumped out to a 21-4 lead. Minot had trouble getting star Cassie Askvig going early in the game as she finished the first half with just four. However, the Magi finished the half on a 17-5 run to get within five.

Jamestown turned the ball over just seven times and only twice in the second half. Megan Gaffaney finished the game with 15 points in one of her best overall games of the season.

Askvig finished with 16 points. The Jays are off until Saturday when they play Turtle Mountain.
