N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The first born baby of 2016 is a daughter to a Glenfield, North Dakota couple at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Jeslin Elaine Strangland was born at 8:10 AM on Saturday, January 2nd to Amy and Lucas Strangland. Jeslin was delivered by Dr. Mandy Sorlie, with birth unit nurse Deb Thingstad and Marla Wegner, licenses practical nurse, in attendance.

Jeslin wasn’t due to arrive until January 11th, but after making a third 45-mile trip, Jeslin became the first baby born in Jamestown for the New Year. Both Amy and Lucas state that everything went smoothly and everybody is healthy and happy.
