N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The American Red Cross is normally on the scene immediately following a natural disaster or other event and is comprised mostly of volunteers.

According to the Red Cross, one volunteer has made a huge difference in 2015. The Eastern Division of the American Red Cross has named Jeff Wolsky of Jamestown its 2015 ‘Volunteer of the Year.’

Wolsky helped lead the volunteer team in Jamestown to numerous home fires in and around Stutsman County. He has volunteered for 15 years and has logged over 8,500 hours of service.

“Jeff has just done an incredible job supporting Jamestown and surrounding communities,” said Red Cross Regional Executive Officer, Judy Green. “We cannot thank him enough for his selflessness in assisting both responders and those directly impacted by disaster.”

In addition, he has taken the role of Community Volunteer Leader for the area.
