N.D. (AP) – North Dakota Supreme Court Justice Dale Sandstrom says he will not seek re-election next year.
Sandstrom made the announcement on Tuesday. He will have served 24 years in the state’s highest court when his term ends in December 2016. Sandstrom took office in 1992. He was re-elected to 10-year terms in 1996 and 2006.
He served on the North Dakota Public Service Commission before he was elected to the state Supreme Court.
Sandstrom says that after he leaves office, he plans to write books on state history and be more involved in volunteer activities.
