CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Earlier this year Valley City approved of a 1.3 percent increase in wages for city workers. City Administrator David Schelkoph and other city officials agreed that the city lags behind other cities of similar size.
But Valley City resident Lloyd Nelson questioned the cities decision to increase employee wages across the board.
Valley City Mayor Bob Werkhoven said even with the salary increases property taxes were reduced slightly in Valley City.
The Valley City board of commissioners unanimously approved of a 1.3 percent wage increase for city workers earlier this year. The raises go into effective on January first.
