N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For the second time this season, a gold coin was found in a Jamestown Red Kettle.
According to Major Tim Nauta, a 1-ounce South African gold coin was deposited at the kettle in front of Cash Wise Foods in Jamestown. The coin has an approximate value of $1,100 and will be taken to an appraiser before being redeemed as a donation.
Major Tim Nauta stated that the current campaign has raised $84,700, which is well behind this year’s fundraising goal of $156,000. According to Major Nauta, the fundraising campaign was short of the same goal. He stated that individuals can still donate through January to assist in reaching the campaign goal. They can do so by check, cash, or online through their website and Facebook page.
