CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City School board member Ryan Mathias disagrees with a policy that sets up a procedure for school board member visits to schools and their classrooms. Mathias believes the policy micro-manages a school board members visitation rights.

School board chairwoman Joyce Branagel disagreed.  She said the policy is a good recommendation that comes from the state.

School board member Mike Callahan said the policy is a good procedure to follow being we hire school administrators to handle these type of situations. Here is a portion of the discussion from that school board meeting.

The school board approved a first reading of school board member visits to schools policy on a 4 to one vote last night. Ryan Mathias voted against the motion.
