N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A release from the office of City Administrator Jeff Fuchs states that due to a government issue, the collection of the Two Rivers Activity Center sales tax will be delayed for three months.
According to Fuchs, the Sales Tax Division notified his office that the 1% City Sales Tax for Phase 1 construction of TRAC will be effective beginning April 1st, 2016 rather than January 1st, 2016 after the ordinance was passed by the City Council in September.
The Tax Department reported that they had not received the letter and enclosed ordinance concerning the local sales tax that was sent September 22nd, 2015. The State Tax Department’s deadline for increasing or lowering a local sales tax effective January 1st, 2016 was September 30th.
