N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Farmers Union wrapped up their state convention this past weekend with over 650 members in attendance at the Bismarck Civic Center.
Delegates and members debated issues concerning family farmers and became active in determining the policy of the organization. Some items that were addressed during the convention included membership voting for a special order concerning the current corporate farming law and voting down on the upcoming measure in June.
Other highlights included 23 youth awarded with the Torchbearer award. Over $6,700 was raised for the NDFU Foundation and a $10,000 donation was made to the Great Plains Food Bank in memory of James Kerzman, a state board member who passed away last summer.
