N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Monday, December 14th, State School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler announced 35 school districts that would be receiving portions of $5.4 million for rapid enrollment growth.

According to Baesler, Legislature set aside $14.8 million over two years for the grants.

Ellendale Public School District and Strasburg Public School District received money from the announced grant.

Baesler says state aid for schools is based on the previous year’s enrollment. She says if a school has a big influx of students, it needs help to hire additional teachers and provide classroom space.
