CITY, N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) The Barnes County Commission gave Sheriff Randy McClaflin the green light to shop for a drone to assist in law enforcement efforts. He said it would be used to protect officers at an active crime scene.
Barnes County Commissioner Rodger Berntson said the drone could also be used to locate a missing person. The commission told McClaflin to look for a drone under a thousand dollars. Any future drone purchase would need to be approved by the Barnes County Commission.
