Ostby, 86, of LaMoure, ND, passed away at home on December 6, 2015.

Milton James, son of Hjalmer and Rose (Rutch) Ostby was born on May 28, 1929. He grew up in the LaMoure area and attended school in Verona and LaMoure. He was united in marriage to Ione Folkestad and together they had six children, Michael, Debbie, Susan, Holly, Linda, Warren. Milton farmed in the LaMoure area up until the time of his death. He also operated a John Deere Salvage business for over 30 years on the farm.

Milton remained active and hard-working in spite of advancing age and some health problems. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ione; five children, Debbie (Glenn) Muske, Bismarck, ND, Susan Ostby, Fargo, ND, Holly Nicholson, Jamestown, ND, Linda (Dominic) Esposito, Simpsonville, SC, and Warren Ostby, Williston, ND; three grandchildren, Erin Muske, Huntsville, TX, Kara (Nate) Welk, Bismarck, and Kenneth Nicholson, Fargo, ND; one great-grandson, Quinton Welk; a second great-grandson yet to be born; and his sister, Margaret Wegenast, Edgeley, ND. Milton was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 starting at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, LaMoure, with Reverend Paul Preus officiating. An on-line guestbook may be signed at www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com
